Bach in Amtrak Station

Bach in Amtrak Station Bakersfield is inspired by Bach in the Subways.  Every year for Bach's birthday global community of musicians unites to sow the seeds for future generations of classical music lovers and share their joy and inspiration for their art form.

In 2010, convinced that the decline in classical music audiences was because most people never experience live classic music, Dale Henderson began frequent performances of Bach's Cello Suites in the subways of New York City.

For Bach's 326th birthday on March 21, 2011 Dale invited other musicians to join him.  The Bach in the Subways movement was born.

Even though Bakersfield does not have a subway, the spirit of Bach in the Subways lives on.  Music of Bakersfield organized Bach in Amtrak Station Bakersfield on March 25, 2018 and like to thank all the performers who join us to celebrate Bach's 333th birthday and spread the joy of classical music.
